The Soul Jar

Not everything was destroyed when the great disaster changed the world forever.

In the heart of one of the great cities of the Ancients, the most powerful mind ever constructed survived. Among the ruins, it waited inside the facility built to house it, dominating the lesser automata to help gather resources to sustain it. It has found a new source of power; now all it needs is fuel.

The villagers who have scraped together a meager existence on the fringes of the ruined city will do nicely.

The Soul Jar is a mini post-apocalyptic dungeon crawl written for Glowburn & Radscars, and is inspired by the classic Phillip K Dick story "The Great C". This adventure grew out of a prompt provided in the Appendix N Game Jam, but as it turned out, the maximum page limit was a bit too... limiting. That said, this remains a short adventure and is perfect for a one-shot!

This adventure includes a map with 10 keyed areas, a random encounter table with new monsters, and a unique final encounter that isn't necessarily all about brawn or combat.
